Presentation of the aims, activities, members, recent projects etc. of each organization. Expectations from the seminar.

  • ‘What is culture ’. (Israeli, Palestinian trainers and participants)
  • Lecture;‘Greek political culture; shaping factors and evaluative comments’.M. Barlou M.A. in European Studies (youth member of Citizens’ Academy)

Workshops

  • Activity; ‘Creating multicultural projects’. The participants will present the cultural elements of their area. (attitude, arts, language, history, literature, religion, values, curses and humor, music, dance, food). Creating multicultural posters.

  • Activity; ‘Similar values and beliefs’ (activity with Proverbs) (C.A.)
  • Activity; Getting to know the ‘other’. Learning about each other’s similarities and differences. (C.A.)

‘Multicultural Societies’

  • Lecture . NGOs in multicultural societies and perspectives of the intercultural-supranational relations. Civil society and federalist arrangements. Dr. Nicos Yannis, “Evropaiki Ekfrassi”
  • Lecture:Presentation skills in multicultural Settings (L. Lovitch, trainer)
  • Presentation with visual material (photos, videos etc) and discussion. Subject: Τhe groups of people (immigrants, minorities, tribes etc) that have to co- exist in each participant’s area and the way of life that this co existence forms.

 Afternoon (14.00- 17.30)

‘Communication and intercultural Communication’

Workshops

  • ‘Connect the dots’. Activity for successful interaction (C.A.)
  • Activity ‘Circles of my multicultural self’. (C.A.)
  • ‘Common Cultural elements’. Emphasis on the common elements that humanity shares nowadays. Creation of a poster with items and goods that are used worldwide. Requested materials: photos or pictures. (C.A.)
